Props for sports banner

I had a discussion with Boyee Jacquelyn and dorcus from creative department she was doing sports bar subculture and she wanted sports banner  in A3 size I was assigned to find A3 size banner 6 pieces 3 European league and another 3 was Malaysian football team  I did try to find at many places but couldn’t  find  After I had team discussion with few members from other groups one of them suggest me a place called Dr stich they would print sports banner for really reasonable  price.

The fabrics that I choose for print this flag was cotton mix  polyester  the resin I choose this fabric to make the flag look  because it will look classy and it will flow nicely.

Workshop (Live Drawing By Li Hua Wong)

 

 

This workshop was assigned to collect money for the exhibition event , we invited one of the famous artist Li Hua Wong to be teacher for the day and around 20 people was turn which was a good starter for the workshop , it was good to know that out there a lot people are into art and really interested to put in effort to gain the knowledge. each of the work was very impressive they didn’t look like beginner at all I was really good about besides, we also had an idea of having  booth in our exhibition event for the best drawing and believe me we felt like each and everyone work was great and why not put all them drawing there in separate booth. I also get to learn about the drawing and it was a great opportunity for me to put with Li Hua Wong .

before we  start the event we did some fund raising workshop for the event and for the spastic children who are unable to talk but they can do great art work . we pay visit at their place and letting them know that we are doing this event and the amount that we get from the event we going to share with this foundation and we also help them to keep one booth for their foundation to collect donation on the behalf of them, we also ask them if you want we can sell the art work that actually done by the kids . It was wonderful experience as for me this was 2nd time visit I have already been there before they all very calm and friendly people they really love to talk a lot and they also do a lot of art work we get the chance to educate our self that what are the actual problem of this children and  why  this problem occurred .  Besides , they thought us that don’t judge a book by its cover this people are way to knowledgeable then us.

These picture was taken when we are doing the setting before the vent and after the event ,we plan how need to be done each booth it should look perfect and no one shouldn’t complaint that the boot look awful , finally we did the booth do look like what we were planning for most of them said that the booth looks really nice and the can feel each vibe that we try to portray in each subculture Booth.

Event Day, this is how the day was full of people and fun we had about 236 who buy the tickets we didn’t really predict that much but it turn up that amount we were proud that actually people have known about the event they were willing to look forward of the event.

 

Each of us assigned to one booth first day I was in charge in food and beverages booth but since time consuming reason my group made a different idea by taking out the food and beverages booth out and put in subculture booth, I was looking after party booth and sports bar booth ,besides we were explaining to those visitors who came what in our concept of this exhibition why this concept . make them understand about the subcultures give them a space where they can be comfortable but not awkward . I’m also Glad to see that our lecture did turn for the event to just support us which actually like a strength lecture like Sir Alexander Manners, Mr. Greg Lee and  Miss Miriam. we did take group picture our lecturer and had a lot fun .

This week, Boyee still finding the sponsor of skate shop to borrow some equipment for the social subculture. She has sent a facebook message to the two-skater shops which are Cool Element Skate Shop and TRIANGLESK8, also waiting for both shops reply and call them tomorrow if they don’t reply to me on this week. Also, she still looks of the yoga props and will buy the small pots. Boyee with Miko confirmed how many posters they need and the total is 25 pieces of A3 size glossy paper poster and banner flags. 55% done.

50% 26th December 2018 Kasthuri Youkie This week as i have talk with my group member about the food and beverages order as we feels it’s quite expensive on our budget besides the catering is not giving the sponsorship because of that we decide change the order to different person and yes i manage to find a bakery where we can order desserts beyond our budget. 40% 13th December 2018 Jacquelyn It was suggested as a group that would take the class would pay for an additional day for setup as it would give them time for a possible delay in setup.
Props 40% 13th December 2018 Nash Sean and Nash have decided on making a more specific mood board of each section for the subculture placement of how the overall look of how the props are going to be placed specifically. They have decided to create a fake 3D garage for the bikers with Cardboard, styrofoam and paint the 3D effect over it. They also discuss on searching for a ‘boombox’ or formally known as vintage cassette player for the hip-hop subculture. The clothes for hip-hop they agreed upon using the hangers to display the items.

Boyee will discuss with the creative team who is Dorcus, Maudy, and Miko about the sport and social props. Besides, she has a friend is working in the gymnasium and her friend also promise will borrow some gym equipment for prop display from his gymnasium. After that, all the creative team members confirmed again that how many mannequins they need is 16 units for all subcultures. Also, she will borrow some mannequins from Raffles college and others will be rented from Themanequinshop Enterprise.

80% 13th December 2018 Kasthuri Youkie The food sponsorship is not yet been confirmed as Kasthuri still waiting for them to reply as soon as possible. For the subculture research Boyee, Jacquelyn, and she have made the discussion and are actively searching for props.
Props and Lighting 30% 13th December 2018 Robyn Ng This week Robyn will discuss some props idea and setup with Leon. They planned the booth set up and how to include interactive ideas for the booth set up. So far they found Balsa Wood from Lazada for the background which cost RM11.90 for 10 pieces.

ISSUE SOLUTION
It was suggested by Mr. Alex that the event should focus on pre-marketing the event and not post as it will only benefit the college and not us as students. As such the videographer and photographer for the event day itself should not be necessary. The production team have discussed and agree to Mr. Alex suggested. As of now, there will be no photographer or videographer on the day of the event.

The team is suggesting to the marketing to have a pre-event video to promo the events as were suggested by Mr. Alex.

WEEK 9

Props,

Had discussion with  My Group Team which is production team what are the cultures and props we need for the below culture,  we need to do the research what are the need for the subcultures it will actually helps to source the props easily without any problem yes we did some research on active subcultures and gamers we manged to find props like dumb bells , yoga mats ,knee pads, skate boards and skipping rods sot of things .

Photographer & Videographer 100% 7th December 2018 Dorcus Hiew The Photographer and videographer was confirmed by all students during the meeting held on Monday. One photographer and one videographer respectively. Both will be paid RM500.00 for the two days event, which was confirmed and agreed by all students.
Mannequins, Hangers & Backdrop 60% 30th November 2018 Boyee Tan The Mannequins, Hangers and Backdrop was confirmed during Monday meeting. However, it was hindered by the suggestion by Mr Alex to change the Culture and subculture that would be exhibited on the day of the event. The original confirmation of mannequin was 5 female mannequins and 1 male mannequin would be loan to the event by Raffles College. While as, 4 male mannequins would be rented.
Food & Beverages 80% 7th November 2018 Kasthuri Youkie The food and beverages was confirmed. However, it was suggested to her to ask them to sponsor the food and beverages for the event.
Props and Lighting 25% 7th November 2018 Robyn Ng Props that was sourced first was the acrylic box for the Hip Hop subculture. The moodboard was created by Maudy and I was to source the props that were on it. The acrylic boxes were confirmed to be sponsored by Plasmat Marketing Sdn Bhd. The rest of the props did not progress due to the changes in subcultures and group arrangement.

ISSUE SOLUTION
A few points were brought up by Mr Alex regarding the previously confirmed culture and subcultures, which are Hijabista, Club Culture, Hip Hop, Minimalist and Gamers, are not a good representatives of the culture and subcultures seen in the youth of Malaysia. Although the culture and subculture chosen was part of youth culture in Malaysia, it was just a small element of it. As such, all 3 teams – Creative, Production and Marketing discussed and agreed to take the suggested culture and subculture suggested.

Moreover, the class also took Mr Alex suggestion of switch up the member of all teams. As such, Dorcus from production was moved to creative. While, Nash from creative was moved to production.

CONCLUSIONS
Although there was a major obstacles via the sudden changes this week, we managed to overcome it as a class and team in order for the event to run smoothly.

 

week 8

We planned to changed the food and beverages order to different catering because its not beyond our budget. now we have estimated our budget around Rm 1200 , because the budget is too low we are looking for more like desserts, muffins ,cupcakes and brownies. Managed to find two different categories which beyond our budget now trying to compare which one is best and good taste.
